You’ve probably heard people say that money can’t buy happiness, and for the most part, that’s technically true. You can’t buy your way into happiness and satisfaction because it’s something that has to be cultivated from the inside. However, there is an exception – money can buy you experiences that will help you cultivate happiness and enjoy your life.
Here are some of the best ways money can buy you just about anything you want, even happiness.
Money can buy you private police protection
Private police officers are commonly employed by secluded, gated communities with an HOA and wealthy neighborhoods. For example, a security firm called The City’s Finest employs around 200 officers to patrol public spaces around where they work and live. Regular citizens hire officers from private security firms when they don’t feel like the city’s police department provides enough protection. Sometimes it’s a struggle just to get basic services.
Officers working for private security firms wear their usual uniforms and carry the same authority as they do when working for the city. In a time when many people are expressing anti-police sentiment, the presence of private police in wealthy neighborhoods can cause a bit of a stir. Since many people are divided between not wanting any police presence and feeling like there’s never enough, it’s a little controversial.
Although people in poorer neighborhoods feel the added police presence in wealthy areas is unfair, this could be a good sign, simply because it means they see law enforcement in a positive light. This is the attitude the National Police Association (NPA) works hard to foster within communities. Even though there’s a lack of funding for police, the fact that people want police presence speaks volumes.
Money will buy you a bodyguard
Just like private police protection, you can buy a bodyguard if you feel you need one. This is common for celebrities, but if you think there are people out to get you, all you have to do is lay down some cash for protection.
Good vacations can cost a fortune
When was the last time you took a real vacation? The kind of vacation where you thoroughly enjoyed every moment and didn’t want to come home? Most people take a few days off work and go somewhere boring just to get away. However, if you have money, you can go anywhere and do anything. You can go on a safari in Africa, climb a mountain halfway across the country, or spend a week in a beachside resort in Greece.
Money can buy experiences
While you’ll technically need to create your memories, money can buy you everything you need to make them extra amazing by visiting places that will just add to your overall excitement and fun. For example, you can invite your entire family and all of your friends on an adventure somewhere exotic and far away, or you can go to a nearby festival.
When you’re willing to spend the money, you can go anywhere and make beautiful memories in those places. You don’t even have to go anywhere fancy – all you need is a destination you’ll enjoy, time off work, and the funds to make it happen.
Money can get you a great wedding
Some people opt for a simple wedding, while others spend tens of thousands of dollars on a picture-perfect destination wedding with a fancy, extended honeymoon. If you want a big, fancy wedding, money will definitely buy you exactly that. You can have a destination wedding and pay for everyone’s tickets to make sure all your best friends and family are there, hire the best photographer and videographer, and order amazing food.
Money can buy opportunities
Most opportunities worth pursuing cost money. College, online courses, business opportunities, starting your own business, and pursuing personal growth are just some examples of opportunities with a financial cost
If you try to get everything for free, you won’t get very far. For example, running a business will require spending money on marketing and advertising at some point. Free advertising methods and techniques aren’t good enough to carry your business to seven or more figures.
Money can buy just about everything
Next time you hear someone say that money can’t buy you love, there’s no arguing that. But when it comes to the things and experiences money can buy, the possibilities are truly endless.
