Mexico has long been home to many hidden treasures, and most recently discovered by not just travelers seeking new experiences where they can explore all that God’s green earth offers but even film makers are recognizing Puerto Vallarta as a heartbeat of true Mexican culture that is an ideal location for projects of any size.
Puerto Vallarta is rich in activities, delicious authentic Mexican food, music, and so much more. From the fine dining restaurants hidden along the streets of the city, one of which we highly recommend is MAIA, where the chef is a self taught Parisian cuisine expert and the food is unbelievably good and prepared and cooked to utter perfection.
When you travel to Puerto Vallarta, you can enjoy dancing the night away at the hottest club in town STRANA nightclub, and enjoy daytime fun with the seaside adventures including swimming with dolphins at their local adventure park, or whale watching, scuba diving, parasailing, wave runners, all via a CANUWA Luxury Catamaran expedition that takes you from one shore to the next. You’ll have to take a smaller boat just to reach the breathtaking private beach called Las Animas Beach Club, a secret oasis that offers a day time lunch beach side, letting you escape the world as you know it and retreat into a lighthearted environment where pleasure abounds. Not only is Puerto Vallarta a Bucket List travel destination, it is a must use film location. Sundown is the latest motion picture to be entirely shot in Puerto Vallarta; adding to some 30 US film productions that have taken place in the destination.
Sundown, by Mexican director Fernando Lebrija, is scheduled to open in the US and Canada in May 2016, and is one of two films premiering this year that were partly funded by the State of Jalisco’s new filming commission (COFIEJ).
The city of Puerto Vallarta has a deep historical connection with Hollywood. Its position as an international tourist destination was framed when filming of John Huston’s Night of the Iguana came to its shores and with it one of the most talked about love affairs of the past century, that of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton; placing the then small coastal town in the eye of a paparazzi storm with media from all parts of the world reporting on all aspects of the couple’s life and with it Puerto Vallarta.
Since then, the city has continued to attract celebrities to its shores. Celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Eva Longoria, Gwenyth Paltrow, Zendaya, Chris Tucker, Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have strolled the cobblestone streets of Puerto Vallarta’s markets, taco stands and Malecon with ease and little fanfare. The city’s secluded surroundings and laid back feel is a respite from the Hollywood lifestyle and provides high profile personalities some much needed privacy and downtime.
From start to finish, whether in town for business or pleasure, your travel experience in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico will be nothing short of spectacular.
