Deutsche Yachten, the working group of the German Boat and Shipbuilders Association, has welcomed Ocean Independence AG as their newest member, bolstering their position as one of the world’s leading brokerage houses for superyachts. With headquarters located in Küsnacht, Switzerland, not far from Zürich, the company operates two strategic locations in Germany with branches in Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
Ocean Independence sales broker Lukas Stratmann says: “The German market has always been a very important one for us. Many of our brokerage, charter and new construction clients come from Germany. Therefore, it was only natural to join the working group in order to create an even better network with the relevant companies in this country.”
Founded more than 15 years ago, Ocean Independence is one of the fastest growing companies in the luxury yacht sector – the brokerage house now has 13 offices around the globe. With hundreds of yacht charters booked as well as yacht sales in the mid-double-digit range per year, Ocean Independence is one of the most successful yacht brokers in the world.
An important pillar of the company is also yacht management, including operational yacht management and new yacht construction. Operational services for yacht owners range from managing crew employment to running a well-organised schedule. Nearly all yacht managers at Ocean Independence are former yacht captains or engineers, ensuring that the yachts in the Ocean Independence fleet are maintained, operated and managed to the highest possible standards.
If clients are considering commissioning a new build or converting an existing yacht, Ocean Independence have extensive experience and connections in this area, ensuring that all projects are managed efficiently and delivered on time. With yacht management as such a core service, the membership with Deutsche Yachten was a natural move.
Claus-Ehlert Meyer, Managing Director of the German Boat and Shipbuilders Association and thus also of Deutsche Yachten, comments, “A company that is so strongly focused on end customers and thus acts virtually on the pulse of yachting is very good for the Group. I am extremely pleased to welcome such a renowned company.”
