Cadillac is tired of being just in the shadow of luxury European brands, so it has pulled out its new electric car, the Cadillac Celestiq. It shares a resemblance with the Lyriq SUV. However, its sleek lines, sweeping roof, and busted rear give it more dynamic proportions and jaw-dropping presence.

General Motors released teasers and a few images of the car back in June. The new Cadillac Celestiq looks stunning. The hand-crafted electric vehicle will go for limited production, somewhere in 2023.

Engine and Performance

Cadillac hasn’t shared much information on the Celestiq’s powertrain yet. However, the company has assured that the flagship sedan will provide both all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering. So, this means that there will be two electric motors, which will have a similar accelerative performance to the Tesla Model S and the Porsche Taycan. Moreover, we expect the Cadillac Celestiq to have a tamer, more comfort-oriented approach on the road.

The luxury car will get its electrons from an Ultimate battery pack, which could be up to 100 kWh. So, according to estimation, the Celestiq’s driving range should be at least 300 miles per charge.

Interior

The Celestiq has quite a luxurious interior and it is a technological powerhouse. The car has four bucket seats which means that each person will enjoy their own bubble of space. Moreover, the roof is made from a glass panel, which is adjustable. Moreover, every passenger can control their corner. The brushed metal trim intermingles with the ecologically sourced open-pore wood. It has been perforated to allow the sparkles to shine through the interior lighting system. Moreover, the cargo area, lined with leather, features attractive metal inlays on the floor.

Infotainment

Most luxury cars have large infotainment displays, measuring 10.3 or 12.3 inches in diameter. However, you would be surprised to know that the Cadillac Celestiq has a 55-inch screen that covers the entire length of the car’s dashboard. Moreover, the rear seat passengers can control their large displays. Regarding the stereos, we expect Cadillac to continue its partnership with AKG. This would mean a system that will have speakers inside each of the headsets.

Reliability and Safety

Cadillac hasn’t given any specifics about the driver-assistant features yet. However, the luxury car will feature the next generation of GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology, a feature the company is calling the Ultra Cruise. Other basic driver assists will be standard. Moreover, the key safety features include:

  • Standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist
  • Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Standard adaptive cruise control with hands-free driving mode

The price of Cadillac Celestiq is around $300,000. For more information, visit the Cadillac website.
