Former MGM Resorts International CEO, Jim Murren has listed their 13,000 square foot Las Vegas home at $10.5 million. The spectacular estate, known as the SkySpace, is an ultra-contemporary home boasting of an immersive art-and-sensory experience.
The home is located at the 7 Painted Feather way guard-gated community near the Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. Built in 2009, Murren and his wife Heather worked with architecture firm Marmol Radziner, artist James Turrel and builder Jack Raftery to bring this desert masterpiece to life. This made it one of the only two houses designed by architectural geniuses Marmol Radziner in South Nevada.
It’s composed of steel, concrete, and complete wall to wall windows, providing an unobscured view of the Las Vegas airstrip. Sitting on the Bear’s Best Las Vegas golf course, the home also offers panoramic views of the 18-hole collection, the Red Rock Canyon, and the city lights.
Desert Masterpiece
The 1.5-acre estate comes with four bedrooms in the main house, a detached guest bedroom, and eight bathrooms. It also vaunts of state-of-the-art amenities with an elevator, a subterranean half basketball court, an in-movie theatre, a movie room, a wine cellar, an office space, and a fitness room.
The master suite features an ultra-modern bathroom with an oversized tub, while large windows ring the indoor Scavolini Italian kitchen.

Indoors, the house embraces a contemporary desert décor. The living spaces’ landscape comes with an integration of bamboo and pine trees, which nicely compliment the glass walls. It also has a formal detached dining room that appears suspended over the edge of the estate and enclosed by three glass walls.
SkySpace is also not short of outdoor amenities. It comes with a lap swimming pool overlooking the golf course, a Zen garden, a jacuzzi, a courtyard with an outdoor kitchen, a courtyard, cold plunge, and a surround-sound audio system.
Additionally, the estate also has a climate-controlled garage hidden from the walking paths leading to the guest house and art-installation.
The heart of the property, however, is the Turrel SkySpace lighting display. Ivan Sher, the home’s listing agent, says, “SkySpace is an immersive art-and-sensory experience. It captures the natural light of the rising and setting sun, combines that with a sophisticated pattern of lights inside the structure, and creates the illusion through its lighting that you are floating through space. It is a truly transformative experience.”
SkySpace’s advanced technology program is, however, available for purchase outside of the home sale. The home’s listing agent is Ivan Sher, from the Ivan Sher Group of Berkshire Hathaway, Las Vegas.
