Plastic Surgery 101

Plastic Surgery 101

Do you ever think about undergoing plastic surgery? Let’s be honest – it’s hard not to think about it when you live in Beverly Hills. However, is it purely social pressure that is making you think about altering your body? If so, then there are a few other things you should be aware of first. We’re going to take a look at five things you should consider before going under the knife to enhance your beauty.

Why?

There are many different reasons why people want surgery to improve how they look. It could be to do with body image issues – which can be completely debilitating at times. You might also think you will be more confident with a slightly smaller nose, or a bigger set of boobs. You may even have been a victim of an accident that has left you with heavy scarring in visible areas. But, whatever your reasoning, you have to make sure you are doing it for yourself. And, that you are 100% definite that you want to go through with it.

Where?

Of course, by this stage you have made up your mind about where you will have your beauty procedure. However, it’s important to know exactly what you want – and to stick with it. Some surgeons may suggest that you have other work done while you are there – but it isn’t something you should just dive into. Of course, if you go away and think about it long and hard, you may decide it’s a good idea. But give yourself that time before making any life changing plastic surgery decisions.

True Beauty

Who?

It would be nice to know that all surgery will achieve the same results, but sadly, that isn’t the case. So, if you want to have breast augmentation surgery, it’s essential that you find the best consultant you can. And, that they have a proven track record in that field. It’s not just a question of money, either. You should look at their past patients, and question anything that has gone wrong. And, of course, you need to know what will happen if things do go wrong. A great cosmetic surgeon will always be open and honest about what they do – and if you suspect some dishonesty, you should look elsewhere.

How Much?

Let’s get things straight – plastic surgery is an expensive beauty procedure. There’s no getting around it, so if you don’t have the cash, save up for longer instead of going down a cheaper route such as flying out to Europe. Think of the skills you will be paying for, and it’s easy to see where the costs come from. The surgeon, the anaesthetist, the scrub nurses and the other theater staff all have well-paid skills. Then, there’s the equipment that will be used. It all adds up – but, of course, there is always a risk. So, it might not be enough to afford the operation itself. You should also allow for some time off work, and also sufficient to pay for any aftercare treatments.

Is cosmetic surgery for you? We’d love to hear about your experiences, so let us know in the comments section below.
