The Palm Beach International Yacht Show has come to a close for another year. The 31st edition of the Florida event proved to be a success for all involved, with a stunning selection of attractions drawing visitors from all over the globe. It is one of America’s largest yacht shows, exhibiting over USD 1.2 billion worth of mega yachts, boats and marine equipment. Despite a small amount of rainfall, the event proved immensely popular; approximately 40,000 attendees poured through the gates and the mood among yacht brokers and buyers was buoyant. According to Skip Zimbalist, the President of Show Management, “the 2016 Palm Beach International Boat Show was the biggest and most successful ever.”
Aside from a selection of informative seminars on a broad range of topics, including sports fishing, on board cooking and celestial navigation, one of the most insightful moments of the event came when Fraser Yachts held a press conference to introduce the company’s new CEO, Raphael Sauleau.
The yachts on display under the Fraser Yachts banner showcased the impressive diversity of the brokerage’s sales fleet, with explorer yachts, sports fishers, classic motor yachts and modern super yachts all on display. From the fast, American-built superyacht M/Y COCKTAILS and the world cruisers M/Y SEVEN J’S and M/Y VIVIERAE, right through to the timeless M/Y KEIKI KAI and sport fishers M/Y MISS AMERICA and M/Y NIMBUS, there was something for every yacht buyer at this year’s show. M/Y RED PEARL was also viewed by interested parties at Palm Harbor Marina, although the distinctive 30m explorer yacht was not part of the event itself.
The 2016 Palm Beach Yacht Show was a great opportunity for yachting enthusiasts to admire the latest and greatest vessels and toys, as well as enjoy a busy program of entertainment, water sports demonstrations and industry seminars. The AquaZone – an artificial 15,000-gallon freshwater pool – was another highlight of the event, and hosted an array of water toy demonstrations. As always, there were supercars, live bands and luxury brands on display too — all adding to the fantastic atmosphere of fun and glamour under the Florida palms. Visitors were also able to participate in a competition for the chance win a complete refit for their yacht.
