You truly can express yourself through your fashion choices and the clothes you wear. However, it’s important to remember that fashion is something that should be fun and unique-and not about copying someone else’s style. There are, however, some basic dos and don’ts that can guide you as you pick out clothes for school or any other occasion. This article is full of tips on finding your own style along with expressing yourself through fashion without being too daring.
Choice of Hairstyle
Do you have long or short hair? Maybe your hair is wavy, straight, curly, thick, thin, black, blonde, or brown. Hair can be of any color and texture. Some people really want to change the length or style of their hair but are afraid to do so, afraid it will totally change their look or cause problems at school. However, there are many ways to cut your hair that will not drastically alter your appearance. Braids are a good choice for girls with bangs because they cover the forehead and also give some lift to heavy bangs. You can always braid your hair in different styles-two French braids pulled back into a ponytail or one French braid down each side of the head instead of just one down the middle. Braids are also a good choice for people who have really curly hair because braiding your hair can minimize frizz. Another hairstyle option is Sisterlocks which are basically miniature-sized dreadlocks or micro-braids. The main thing that differentiates Sisterlocks from traditional locks is their tiny size. No matter what you do with your hair, however, always be aware of how your hair looks and if you’re comfortable before walking out of the house or heading to school.
Wear Colors That Match Well Together
Do you have a favorite color? Do you wear it often? If so, this is something to think about when choosing clothes. Notice if most of your wardrobe is composed of one or two colors. This is not necessarily bad as long as the colors are compatible. As you can probably guess, wearing clothing with lots of different hues and textures at once will be harder for others to match up together in their minds. For example, if you’re wearing a shirt with horizontal stripes that are one color but then have flip flops that are another color-it can look pretty funny! You’ll want to stick mostly with solid or monochromatic outfits (or those that use only shades of the same color).
Choosing Clothing That Flatter Your Body Type
If you’re aware of what your body type is, you can choose clothes that work for it. The main thing to remember when determining if a style will suit you is whether or not it enhances your assets and makes them look even better. If you have a small waist but wide hips-you may want to go with skirts or pants that flare out at the hips instead of ones that are tight around the hips and form a straight line down from there. Also, make sure tops aren’t too clingy in areas where they may highlight your figure flaws. However, don’t be afraid to try new styles because fashion is supposed to make you feel good about yourself! Just take into consideration your body shape before making fashion choices.
What To Wear In Different Situations
You don’t necessarily need to dress up all the time and you don’t necessarily need to be casual all the time either. For example, if it’s a hot summer day and you’re going to spend hours outside playing football, you probably want something light like shorts and a t-shirt (or skirt or sundress) instead of jeans or other pants that will make you too warm. Just make sure your outfit isn’t inappropriate for wherever you are! If you’re wearing shorts – they can’t be so short as to give people a flash of your behind when you bend over…unless this is what you wanted. As another example, if you’re going to a party and want to impress-you may want to dress up a little bit and go all out on your outfit. However, don’t go overboard and wear something that’s too short or revealing-and remember, guys will be able to notice these things! So try not to dress like a total slob either because this might make it look like you didn’t care about what you looked like before coming. In general, always try to dress appropriately for the occasion so no one gets offended or has their feelings hurt by what you wear.
If you’re thinking that your hair looks too average or if you don’t think there’s much that can be done with it-don’t worry! There are plenty of hairstyles that will bring out your beauty and make you look good curly. If you’re having trouble figuring out what colors look good together you might consider trying outfits made up of only darker shades or only lighter ones so there aren’t as many color contrasts. Finally, always remember to be conscious about how you look before going somewhere new. The last thing you want is for people to get a bad impression of you because your clothes aren’t right for where you are.
