Training

If you want your staff to give off that luxury image, then you have got to train them correctly. They have to understand all the products and services intimately and be able to answer any questions that may be asked of them with ease. The more they know, the more genuine your company will come across. They need to be fluent in the story of the company and how things came about. The ideas that led to the first products and how this was all conceived. They need to know the history, and in fact, it would help if they saw themselves as a part of that history. If they believe it, your customers will believe it too. This training must be ongoing. You can have refresher lessons and update sessions. You can make training part of your luxury business model. This gives you an opportunity to check your staff’s knowledge and how committed they are to your cause.

See staff as family

It would help if you saw each of your staff as a member of the family. Depending on the size of your company, try and learn the name of your staff. Or at least all the managers. Then they need to be trained to treat the staff in the way you want everyone to be treated. Create a family atmosphere and involve the staff into the decision making, have update meetings and one to ones with the staff. Having the whole team act as a family towards one goal makes the atmosphere more personal and warm. This atmosphere will be transmitted to the customer, and they will feel that sense that they have entered something far more intimate. This is a power that can be used and maximized if you are prepared to go all the way.

Luxury team uniform and accessories

How your team dresses will have a huge impact on how they feel. If they look and feel luxurious, this can only transcend to the customer in a positive way. That calm almost holiday feel will ooze out of them, they will be able to take every customer as they come. If you want to go the full hog, you can provide regular haircuts, teeth whitening, and facials as an example. If you want the best, give the best. Treat your staff like they deserve better. The uniform will go a long way to achieve this. So think about your business type and think about how your staff need to dress. Remember that they still need to work, so over extravagance is not recommended. Think comfort, style and that wow factor.

The best tools and equipment

No luxury company worth its salt will battle with mediocre tools and equipment. If you want to have the best customers and exude that image of high-class sophistication, you cannot be battling with an old computer system or outdated tools. In your store or office, you need to have the best furniture too. You are not going to wow a customer with a cheap desk. Why not invest in a standing workstation, for example. Hunt about and do some investigation, because if you want to make money, you have to put in the time and effort. Yout customers will see straight through someone struggling with old useless equipment. So get the best tools for the job, and the staff will be able to perform to the best of their ability.

Give off that luxury edge

Your store or boutique, or whatever your place of work is, has got to be able to give an air of wealth and extravagance all on its own. Think about the feeling someone has when they enter the workspace of a luxury business. You want them to be wowed. Perhaps images on the wall, painting perhaps, ornaments. Think about the type of music that should be playing, the volume it is set at, what kind of fragrance do you want adorning the air. The staff looking perfectly turned out in the stunning uniform you provide. The idea that less is more works in this scenario. Perhaps only a couple of items out on show. This is where extensive staff training will come to the fore. They are part of the shop, so to speak, and are a valuable asset. If the place to work is up to standard, then the staff will feel empowered to assist your customers in the way that you feel fit. The whole experience has got the match up.

Allow the staff to enjoy it

If your staff enjoy the atmosphere, you create and feel as if they are a part of something, it will make them want to perform. So listen to them and give them a little freedom. Perhaps, ensure that they have good food and maybe have gifts for staff. The staff are a massive asset to any luxury business. So, look after them, and they will look after you.
