Approximately 77% of all Americans want to learn how to live more sustainably, according to a Forbes survey from 2019. Recent property developments in Beverly Hills are a good indicator of that. Of course, you can expect no less from one of the most environmentally conscious states in the United States. Here’s how 3 new Beverly Hills Property developments are focusing on sustainable design. Santa Monica Residences
Developed by Alagem Capital Group LLC and their associates at Cain International, these buildings are going to follow an aesthetic of gentle curves. The lush, vivid foliage adorning the grounds, walkways, and parapets largely supplement this theme. Aside from proper land clearing and landscaping, the developers’ vision for the residences is also to make it into something of a property-wide garden, with greenery overflowing from every facet.
This design sets it apart from the surrounding buildings, which often have only a complimentary garden at its base. Already the scale models and skyline mockups for the property show it as the greenest looking pair of towers for miles around.
The Wilshire Building
Another development by Alagem Capital Group LLC and Cain International, the Wilshire building will stand right next door to the Santa Monica Residences. It is slated to finish by 2026 and will contain 37 residential units. The Wilshire Building is set to be part of the One Beverly Hills Luxury Hotel & Residences. It will primarily function as a hotel featuring 42 luxury all-suite rooms as well as 37 residences. In addition, it will also contain a public fine dining restaurant.
As with the Santa Monica Residences, the main feature of this property is its greenery. Each story will be surrounded by a ring of well-tended flora. Plans drawn up for the building place it 45 feet from Wilshire Boulevard, screened by rich California foliage and trees. The roof will also play host to a field of Bermuda grass with a palm tree centerpiece, although it is unknown at this time whether this will be an accessible roof deck.
The Gardenhouse Condo
Gardenhouse is a condo and townhouse developed by Palisades and designed by MAD Architects. Construction finished this year, but final touch-ups are still underway. The emphasis for this property is a return to simplicity, making architecture and nature as tightly knit as possible. With plenty of large windows and light-reflective surfaces, it aims to minimize the use of electric light. Plans to make it at least partly solar-powered are also likely underway.
Located at 8600 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, Gardenhouse aims to be the perfect union between green living and modern accommodations. Gardenhouse has a total of 18 residential units ranging from 2,102 to 2,980 square feet in size.
Now more than ever, we need spaces that constantly compete with one another to be as efficient and eco-friendly as possible. With luck, this wave of sustainable property developments will set a trend that will last for decades to come.
