Movie Star Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel is an actor who has starred in blockbusters such as The Fast and the Furious, XXX and The Chronicles of Riddick. He is also an accomplished producer, director, voice-over artist and writer.

The movie star is also an avid Dungeons and Dragons player and has written a book about his life in the game. He is the father of two daughters, has a fraternal twin brother and was raised by his mother and African American stepfather. He started his career in the theater at age seven when he and his brother broke into a New York City theater to vandalize it, but the director offered them parts instead of calling the police.

Although his uncredited debut in the 1990 film Awakenings went mostly unnoticed, Diesel continued to work hard and wrote, produced and directed his first short film Multi-Facial in 1994. It was well-received and screened at the Cannes Film Festival that year. He then made his full-length directorial debut in 1997 with Strays, an urban drama that he acted and produced. The film was a hit and he gained the attention of Steven Spielberg who cast him as a lead in his war epic Saving Private Ryan in 1998.

In the ’00s, Diesel began to headline bigger films like XXX and The Pacifier while continuing to receive critical acclaim for his acting abilities. He also made his mark in science-fiction with the 2004 film Pitch Black where he portrayed Richard B. Riddick, a character that he reprised in the sequels. Of course, the whole world is in anticpiation of the last Fast and Furious film, FAST X….in which the cast members have become beloved friends and family over the years.

While his performances in these films were well-received, Diesel has been able to secure even larger roles in the future. He will be starring as Agent 47 in the upcoming film adaptation of the popular video game Hitman. Plus also voicing Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy. In addition, he will be producing and starring in the next installment of The Fast and the Furious series as Dominic Toretto.

Outside of his blockbuster work, Diesel has also appeared in the low-budget courtroom drama Find Me Guilty and a couple of TV shows. He is currently dating his The Fast and the Furious co-star Michelle Rodriguez and they have one daughter together, Hania. He is also the godfather to Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow Rain Walker. Outside of his acting career, he has founded the production company One Race Films as well as the record label Racetrack Records and the video game studio Tigon Studios. Diesel continues to fight for the rights of working class people through his activism and is a strong supporter of the Dominican Republic. Vin is also an avid athlete and holds the highest rank in the world for Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo. He is a philanthropist as well and has donated money to several charities. He is also an active member of the United Nations Development Programme. Plus, he has also volunteered for disaster relief and disaster response efforts. During the 2013 floods in Thailand, Diesel was involved in rebuilding homes and has also visited with survivors.
