Having the right hairstyle is always top on the list of priorities, but Christmas is just around the corner which means the holiday parties are a-comin’. Before you stress yourself out on what to wear and what not to wear, we’ve decided to make things easier for you this holiday season. We scoured the web and the celebs for picture-worthy hairstyles that will ensure you’ll be making merry all the way to year end.

#1: The Knotty Bun

For those of you who don’t want to spend a lot of time prepping or the party isn’t going to be super fancy, then this is the style you’re looking for. A simple knotty bun is just the thing for those who want to set it and forget it. To make your hairstyle stand out and look more cool than old school, wear a big old jeweled headband.

#2: Slick Back

If you want a sleek look, then this slick back style is what you need. Now don’t let the simple look fool you. This kind of style will require loads of mousse and hairspray to keep your slick backed hair from slacking.

Great Hairstyles For The Holidays#3: The 60’s Half Updo

Retro can look cool if done right. While it may be a bit tricky to get that bit of volume on your crown, everything else about this style is laid back but beautiful. And if you happen to be going to a masquerade Christmas party, you don’t have to worry about the masquerade mask messing with your hairstyle. In fact, we bet the masks elastic band will sit perfectly on top of the knot on your ponytail, ensuring it doesn’t fall down and reveal your identity before you’re ready to do so.

#4: Double Bun

Why stick with one when you can stand out with two? We loved the look when we saw it on Emma Stone at the Venice Film Festival. And you don’t even need a lot of skill to get this done. Just separate your hair into two sections – top and bottom. Then do your bun as you prefer.

#5: The Side Flip

Curly hair shouldn’t get you down. Cut your hair some slack and give your curls some air to breathe. First, give your hair a lot of bounce by using your own cocktail of products (leave-in conditioner, styling cream, and oil) to create soft, crunch-free curls. Then, flip it all to one side and add some cornrows on the other side. You can opt to just use a pretty accessory instead of cornrows if you don’t want the extra work.

#6: The Baggy Ponytail

Holidays are all about loosening up and that includes your hairstyle. Instead of tying your hair tightly, let the elastic sit loosely on your hair a couple of inches below your nape. It’ll look a bit “baggy” at the back but with flat-ironed hair, you get super chic but effortless look that you’ve always dreamed of.

#7: The Twisted Ponytail

Short-haired girls should not despair. This short hair updo is just the thing for the holiday parties ahead. It’s quick and simple to make. Best of all, it can hide your bad hair day by making you look good. You just need to do two side-twists, pin them together at the back, and then put the rest of your hair in a ponytail.

#8: The Romantic Bun for Curly Hair

Here’s another treat for curly haired girls for the upcoming holiday parties. You just need to style your curls for more definition and create a low side ponytail with the sides sectioned off. Loosen a bit of your hair above the elastic so you get more volume. Then, twist and loop parts of your hair in the ponytail and pin it in place with a bobby pin to create a bun. Once all of your ponytail is in a bun, just twist a bit of the side sections and wrap them around the bun. Leave a few strands dangling to frame your face and you’re done!
