Supermodels are prominent personalities in Hollywood, and it isn’t rare to see them dive into acting sometimes; Irina Shayk is no exception.
Irina Shayk is a prominent model born in a small town in Russia, whose exposure into the limelight was her feature as the first Russian model on the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
The green-eyed supermodel had a relatively humble beginning, lost her father at the tender age of fourteen, and her mother had to work two jobs to make ends meet.
However, she managed to study marketing and go to a beauty school with her only sister, where a local modeling agency discovered and encouraged her to participate in a beauty contest, which she won.
In retrospect, she could not have foreseen herself to be a model with her big lips and large boobs, but she redefined the standards of how a perfect model should look.
Her Modeling Career
She got into mainstream modeling in 2007 when she replaced Ana Beatriz Barros as the face of Intimissimi and debuted in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, which she continued to appear in until 2015. And she became the official ambassador of Intimissimi in 2010.
Irina Shayk modeled the Armani Exchange spring/summer 2010 campaign, also starred in Kanye West’s “Power.”
She ranked first in the “50 Hottest Russian Women” list by Complex magazine.
After she made her name modeling for swimwear brands, she switched to high fashion and landed the cover of Elle Spain November 2010 issue.
Her High Fashion runway walks include Miu Miu, Bottega Veneta, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, Burberry, Versace, Givenchy, Diane Von Furstenberg, Giles Deacon, Philipp Plein, and Mango, Paul Gaultier fashion show in 2020.

Her Dedication to Work
In 2016, she walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show while she was six months pregnant with baby girl Lea de Seine Shayk Cooper, her daughter with Bradley Cooper.
Acting Career
She made her acting debut in 2014 as Megara with Dwayne Johnson in the movie Hercules. Also, in 2016 she played the role of a wife in one episode of the comedy television series Inside Amy Schumer.
Achievements
She is the first Russian model to be on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimwear issue. Also, a total of 38 Vogue covers to her name.
