Welcome to New York
Beverly Hills is the heart of Los Angeles. It’s been home to movie stars, sports celebrities, and wealthy business people for generations. Its classic old-school glamour and fast pace are the reason a lot of people make the pilgrimage to LA. Living in LA or Beverly Hills gives you a look into the lifestyles of the rich and famous, but it’s nice to step outside that bubble once in a while and try something a little different. New York is a center of culture in the US. It is a melting pot of hundreds of cultures, lifestyles, religions, and stories. Eight million people come together in one place, and the result is a riot of different experiences just waiting to be had.
Now that life is starting to get back to normal, traveling to New York couldn’t be easier. Take a day off work and spend a long weekend exploring one of the greatest cities in the world. We have a few tips for you to ensure that you have the best time in the Big Apple!
Fly Private
If you can, something you can do to add to the pleasure and luxury of your big weekend in the city is to get there in a private plane. Not only will you arrive in style, but your trip will be so much more relaxing than if you were on a commercial flight. Grab a nap, watch a movie, have a snack or a glass of champagne, and plan your attack on New York. No cramped seating arrangements, no crying baby on the whole flight, no coughing man in the seat next to you, no passenger behind you complaining about how far back you recline your seat. The bliss of a calm atmosphere, your choice of departure time, and a wonderful long weekend to look forward to.
Friday
You arrive in New York fresh off your private flight, and the first thing you do is to check in to your accommodation. Instead of staying in a fancy hotel, we suggest checking out an Airbnb in one of the city’s exciting neighborhoods. You could check out a bohemian chic brownstone in Kips Bay, Manhattan, or a cottage by the water in Queens. Drop off your bags, freshen up and head out to start your weekend.
Your first stop should be some of New York’s well-known art galleries, like the MOMA, the Met, and the Guggenheim. Art and culture are two of the biggest attractions that New York has to offer. Take in the exhibitions, wander the galleries and let the art and history wash over you. Not only are these galleries calming and a relaxing way to spend some time in the city, but they’ll leave you with a hunger for more art.
Next up, lunch at Grand Central Station. No trip to NYC would be complete without a trip to this landmark. Despite being a train station, there are many restaurants at Grand Central that are known worldwide. The Oyster Bar is one of these establishments and has been serving the freshest seafood in the city since 1913. Not only is the food incredible, but the location is truly unique.
After a rest at your weekend spot, it’s time to head out and explore the city. Wander around midtown, taking in the sights of the city until it’s time for dinner, then treat your tastebuds to some of the best food in New York. If you feel like a steak, try Club A Steakhouse or if French food is more up your alley, check out Le Bernardin.
Saturday
Wake up nice and early and grab a coffee and a bagel at one of the city’s many incredible coffee shops. Steer clear of Starbucks; you can get it anywhere! Manhattan is a coffee hub for real coffee lovers. You could try Cafe Grumpy, Birch Coffee, or La Colombe. If you’re feeling so inclined, you could head to the East Village and pop into the Coffee Project.
Now, it’s time to play tourist. There are many tours you could sign up for, or you could grab an Uber or taxi to the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. The New York skyline is an unmissable stop on any trip to the city.
Chinatown and Little Italy are next on the list for lunch and a little exploration of some cultures that you might not know too much about. All that exploring can be tiring, so you better head back to your place for a bit of rest and refresh before you head to the Broadway show. No trip to the big apple would be complete without it!
Sunday
Your last day in New York should be spent relaxing instead of running around. We suggest a trip to the New York Public Library, which was founded in 1895. After checking out the incredible architecture, you should grab yourself a picnic and a blanket and head down to the one and only Central Park. Experience the beauty that the park has to offer but then take a load off. Spread out on your blanket with a delicious lunch, read a book or even grab a quick nap.
Wrap Up
Head back to your chartered flight rested, refreshed, and all New Yorked out. Enjoy your flight back to LA!
