5 Ways To Get Fitness Motivated

Let’s face it. It is really hard to get going with a new fitness program. There is always tomorrow or next week so we keep putting it off. Then, of course, we’ve got too much on or we’re too tired from a poor night of sleep. If just getting started is proving problematic then you may have a motivation problem. Here are our top five ways to make today your best day for a fresh fitness start…Your best you is waiting for you.

Get organized – Find your fitness wear and your tracker band. Put it with your ear buds and your front door key. Choose a pumping playlist for your music player and you are ready to go. If it’s raining, wear a baseball cap to keep the water off your face. If it’s sunny, wear some sunglasses. No more excuses. You are ready to go. So get going!

Get your body prepared – It’s not just your mindset you need to change when you’re about to head out for a run or some activity. Your body needs to be warmed up too. Start with some stimulant free pre workout supplements to help get your body in gear. This way, you’re not relying on caffeine or other stimulants that can leave you jumpy and burnt out too soon. Do at least five minutes of stretches that focus on each limb and joint. Get the heart pumping and get out the door.

Get social – When someone else is relying on you to turn up, you are more motivated to go so you don’t let them down. Prepaid classes are another way to encourage you to show. You don’t want to waste the money you’ve spent. Having other people around you can help energize you. You’ll feel inspired to work harder and you may even become quite competitive. This pushes you on to do better and improve.

Get good – Choose fitness activities that you are good at. There is no point in pushing yourself to go running if you’re really not built for it. Pick what you love and what you can improve at. You are far more likely to stay interested and stay motivated to do it again and again. Swimming, squash, football, Zumba and Pilates are all great ways to get fit. Perhaps you like trampolining or skiing? Find what you can get good at and stick with it.

Get competitive – It’s human nature to want to be the best in a peer group. Why not join a club and start to push yourself up the ranks? Local competitions and even charity events are things you can train for. This keeps you going and keeps you focussed on an end goal or achievement. There are plenty of apps for that too.

Fitness apps can be helpful to keep you motivated. They record your achievements and note your improvements too. Some will remind when it’s time to get going with some more activity. It’s important to find what motivates you most and stick with it. Most important of all is that you enjoy your fitness program. Make it a part of your lifestyle today.
